Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer in Upington to lead quality programs across design to production. You will implement QA plans, perform audits, and drive CAPA initiatives to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams, mentor QA staff, and promote a culture of quality excellence within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive quality assurance or quality control.
• In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and QMS.
• Proven experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and 8D problem solving.
• Experience with product and process audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
• Experience working with suppliers on quality-related matters is a plus.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Upington, Northern Cape, ZA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement QA plans and procedures in line with automotive standards (IATF 16949).
• Oversee QA activities: inspections, testing, and process audits for conformity.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends and lead root-cause analyses.
• Develop CAPA to address non-conformities and improve quality.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to embed quality across stages.
• Manage customer complaints and warranty claims, driving resolution.
• Conduct supplier quality assessments and audits.
• Train and mentor QA personnel and production staff on standards.
