You will lead ECU calibration, analyze data from dynos and on-road tests, and collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement performance improvements.

This role is based in Mossel Bay with access to advanced testing facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive performance engineering with emphasis on engine calibration and vehicle dynamics.
• Proficient with engine and chassis dynamometers, DAQ systems, and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, and vehicle control systems.
• Experience with performance tuning methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance testing procedures on vehicles and components.
• Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement in engine performance, fuel efficiency, emissions, and vehicle dynamics.
• Develop and refine ECU calibration maps to optimize performance parameters.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement performance-related modifications and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues identified during testing or by customers.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in automotive performance engineering and competitive benchmarking.
