Job summary

Placements24 in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA, seeks a Senior Automotive Infotainment Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate infotainment systems including navigation, audio, connectivity, and UI technologies for in-car experiences.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, UI/UX, and vehicle integration teams, ensure compliance with automotive standards, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in automotive infotainment systems development.
• Expertise in embedded systems design, software integration, and validation.
• Strong knowledge of CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and UDS.
• Experience with Linux, QNX, Android Automotive.
• Familiar with multimedia codecs and DSP concepts.
• Knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G connectivity.
• Hybrid work environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements for infotainment systems based on roadmaps and customer needs.
• Oversee hardware and software component development for infotainment units.
• Manage integration of subsystems: audio, navigation, connectivity, and display.
• Develop and execute test plans for validation, performance, and QA.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues during development.
• Collaborate with UI/UX to ensure intuitive interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
