Placements24 in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA, is seeking a Senior Automotive Infotainment Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced in-car infotainment systems, spanning HMI, audio, navigation, connectivity and media.

You will collaborate with software, hardware and UX teams in a hybrid setup, define system requirements, architect solutions, and develop ICDs and validation plans while ensuring cybersecurity and UX considerations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in automotive infotainment systems development or related embedded systems field.
• Proven experience in system architecture design and requirements definition.
• Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and multimedia interfaces.
• Familiarity with embedded operating systems (Linux, QNX) and application development.
• Experience with HMI design principles and UX considerations in automotive environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model (on-site + remote).
• Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity principles is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Define system-level requirements for automotive infotainment systems, including HMI, audio, navigation, connectivity, and media functions.
• Architect and design infotainment system solutions, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and design documentation.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Define and execute system integration and validation test plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure a user-friendly and intuitive human-machine interface.
• Stay current with automotive infotainment trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
• Manage supplier relationships and technical contributions related to infotainment components.
• Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards and cybersecurity best practices.
