Placements24 in Pretoria, Gauteng, seeks a Senior Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to lead design and implementation of ECU software/hardware for luxury vehicles. You will develop embedded C/C++, work with RTOS, and collaborate with hardware teams to ensure safe, reliable performance.

Responsibilities include integrating CAN/LIN/SPI/I2C communication, debugging with JTAG/SWD and oscilloscopes, and contributing to ISO 26262 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on embedded systems engineering in automotive.
• Expert in embedded C/C++ programming.
• Strong experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, Renesas, NXP).
• RTOS knowledge and application in automotive contexts.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN/SPI/I2C and diagnostic standards.
• Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.
• ISO 26262 knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Write high-quality C/C++ code for embedded systems.
• Work with RTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Develop firmware for microcontrollers and peripherals.
