Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and validating electrical architectures for new vehicle platforms.

This hybrid position supports remote work for select tasks while enabling hands-on development on-site. You will develop specifications, schematics, and routing for electrical systems, ensuring reliability and manufacturability, with emphasis on CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and harness design software.
• Understanding of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle electrical system architectures, including power distribution and signal routing.
• Create detailed electrical schematics and harness designs using CAD tools.
• Specify requirements for electrical components, ECUs, and sensors.
• Analyze electrical system performance and meet vehicle targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical system failures.
• Validate electrical designs through simulation, bench testing, and vehicle testing.
• Ensure adherence to automotive standards and regulations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in automotive electrical systems and technologies.
