Job summary

Hatch’s Johannesburg office is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join the Architectural team. The role involves delivering architectural design and technical documentation across projects from concept through construction.

The Technologist will report to the Lead Architect and work with the AIM Architectural Lead to develop coordinated 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation in line with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Architectural Technology (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology (SACAP-accredited).
• SACAP registration as a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist.
• 5-10 years’ experience in an architectural practice.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong knowledge of local building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver coordinated 3D models, 2D drawings, and contract documentation as directed by Lead Architect.
• Maintain and apply architectural CAD standards across all deliverables.
• Prepare and develop project-specific and typical design details.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and other disciplines for integrated design.
• Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance prior to issue.
• Support project delivery through meetings, coordination, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and support implementation.
• Provide technical support to site teams and respond to queries.
