Job summary

Hatch in Johannesburg is seeking an Architectural Technologist to deliver design and technical documentation from concept through construction. You will report to the Lead Architect and coordinate with the AIM Architectural Lead to develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed documentation.

The role requires SA building regulation knowledge, SACAP registration, and strong Revit skills. You will engage with multidisciplinary teams, conduct site visits, and ensure quality outputs for project

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology accredited by SACAP.
• SACAP registration as Professional Senior Architectural Technologist.
• 5–10 years' architectural practice experience.
• Advanced Revit proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of SANS and SA building regulations.
• Experience with council submissions and technical detailing.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Strong coordination, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality outputs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver coordinated 3D models, 2D drawings, and contract documentation per requirements.
• Maintain and apply CAD standards across all project deliverables.
• Prepare and develop project-specific and typical design details.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants and other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Review drawings for quality, accuracy and compliance prior to issue.
• Support project delivery through meetings, technical coordination and construction documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and support implementation.
• Provide technical support to site teams and respond to design queries.
