Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join a Durban-based practice. The role focuses on translating architectural designs into precise, buildable construction documents and specifications, working closely with architects and project managers to advance projects from concept to construction.

You will use BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD to produce coordinated drawings, conduct site inspections, and liaise with contractors.

Qualifications

National Diploma or B.Tech in Architectural Technology or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Architectural Technologist.
Advanced proficiency in BIM software, particularly Revit, and AutoCAD.
Solid understanding of building construction methods, materials, and SA building regulations.
Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent documentation and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed technical drawings, construction documentation, and specifications.
Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, standards, and performance requirements.
Liaise with contractors and consultants during the construction phase to resolve technical queries.
Utilize BIM software to produce coordinated and accurate models and drawings.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality of construction work.
Collaborate with the design team to find practical and efficient construction solutions.
