Job summary

Placements24 client in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, seeks a Lead Architect to guide innovative residential developments from concept through completion. You will shape sustainable communities that respect the local context and comply with South Africa’s building standards, coordinating with engineers, planners and clients.

The role requires a Master’s in Architecture, SAIA registration, and at least 10 years of experience in residential design and sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture required and SAIA registration.
• Minimum 10 years’ architectural experience, focused on residential and sustainable development.
• Proven leadership of design teams and multiple housing projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of sustainable housing projects from concept to completion.
• Mentor and manage a team of architects and designers.
• Ensure compliance with SA building codes, zoning, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, landscape architects, urban planners and construction teams.
• Present proposals to clients and authorities.
• Oversee construction documentation and tender packages.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies.
• Champion sustainable building practices.
