Job summary

SGS is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee technical control, analytical integrity, method development and validation within HKAL. The role ensures testing aligns with validated methods, ISO/IEC 17025, SANAS and SGS quality systems, while meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities span technical leadership, method development, signatory succession, quality audits, client support and instrument optimization. Strong leadership and data integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years' laboratory experience in pesticide residue analysis.
• 3–5 years' experience supervising analysts or leading technical workstreams.
• Experience as a technical signatory or deputy signatory preferred.
• Knowledge of SANAS, ISO/IEC 17025 and MRL testing.
• Strong scientific and analytical judgment with attention to data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for LC, GC and related analytical workflows.
• Ensure tests follow validated methods and accreditation scope.
• Maintain records, calculations, chromatograms and review evidence.
• Lead method development, validation and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor analysts and develop signatory succession.
• Support audits, investigations and client communications.
• Ensure instruments and analytical capacity are maintained and calibrated.
• Train staff and ensure safety and data integrity.
