Job summary

SGS is seeking a diligent Laboratory Analyst to support quality and management systems by preparing, processing and analyzing samples according to established methods. You will operate instruments, maintain QC records and ensure adherence to ISO 17025 and safety procedures.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork, with responsibilities ranging from planning tests to reporting results under supervision.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualification or Grade 12 certificate with experience in duties described.
• Qualification in Chemistry, Food Technology (National Diploma or BSc).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process and analyze samples according to established methods.
• Operate instruments according to prescribed procedures and maintain records of QC.
• Adhere to quality and safety requirements of SGS management system.
• Plan testing activities according to sample volume and deadlines.
• Assist with method validation, proficiency testing and report deviations.
