Job summary

A global inspection and certification company is seeking a Quality Control Manager for its Analytical Services. The role involves implementing quality control strategies, assisting with ISO 17025 compliance, and training staff. Candidates should have a relevant post-graduate degree and at least 5 years of experience in the analytical services field, along with strong management and coordination skills. Flexibility in working hours is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an administrative position or reporting.
  • Minimum 5 years in the field of Analytical Services.
  • Solid Management/Senior Supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Adobe Writer.
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Implement quality control strategy for Analytical Services laboratory.
  • Assist QHSE Manager in accreditation processes.
  • Train staff on quality and technical matters.
  • Evaluate improvement systems and remedial actions.
  • Close out corrective actions/IR findings within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide training on quality and technical matters.
  • Create quality awareness at all staff levels.
  • Assist with management reviews and process tailors.
  • Ensure SANAS matters relating to accreditation/compliance.
  • Adhere to SGS quality and safety requirements.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Implement the quality control strategy for Analytical Services laboratory divisions in line with overall corporate strategy.
  • Assist QHSE Manager in strategic accreditation processes.
  • Assist line management with the implementation of ISO 17025.
  • Evaluate improvement systems.
  • Assist laboratories with corrective and remedial actions and complaints.
  • Assume overall management/accountability and responsibility in ensuring that all remedial actions/complaints/IR findings are closed out within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide training on quality and technical related matters.
  • Create quality awareness at all staff levels.
  • Assist with management reviews.
  • Tailor procedures and processes for reliability and maintainability.
  • Evaluation of Proficiency Tests.
  • Responsible for all SANAS matters relating to the accreditation / compliance of the organization (as per responsibilities for Nominated Rep SANAS document R-03).
  • Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
Qualifications

Education

  • Applicable Post-Graduate degree or diploma
  • Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance qualification
  • Working knowledge of ISO17025
  • Knowledge of work processing packages, MS Word, Excel and Abode Writer
  • Code 8 driver’s license

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an administrative position / reporting
  • Minimum of 5 years in the field of Analytical Services
  • Solid Management/Senior Supervisory experience
  • Fully acquainted with LIMS (CCLAS) system
  • Full knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025)
  • Full knowledge of internal auditing
  • Good co-ordination and management skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
