Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist in Analytical Chemistry to lead our advanced R&D efforts, oversee a team of analytical chemists, and drive method development for novel materials and products in a state-of-the-art facility. You will supervise instrumentation, validate analytical methods (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, NMR), ensure data integrity, and present findings to management.

A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of analytical instrumentation.
• Proven leadership experience in managing a scientific team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement advanced analytical methods using HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, and NMR.
• Lead a team of analytical chemists, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges and resolve complex instrumentation issues.
• Interpret analytical data, author technical reports, and present findings to R&D and management teams.
