Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion, Gauteng, is seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join a dynamic aviation maintenance team. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes and powerplants, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with manuals and aviation regulations.

Ideal candidates will hold a recognized Aircraft Mechanic trade qualification and have at least 5 years of hands-on experience across various aircraft types.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Aircraft Mechanic or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience on commercial/general aviation aircraft.
• Ability to read/interpret manuals, service bulletins, logs.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and aircraft maintenance equipment.
• Capable of working independently or in a team with strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft airframes and powerplants.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues, wear, and tear on aircraft components.
• Repair and replace defective aircraft parts and systems in accordance with manuals and specs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems using appropriate tools.
• Interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ensure maintenance activities are logged accurately and compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other mechanics to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment following safety procedures.
• Assist in ground run-ups and functional tests of aircraft systems.
• Keep abreast of changes in aircraft technology and maintenance procedures.
