Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Aircraft Mechanic in Pretoria to join our expanding maintenance team. In this entry-level role you will assist in routine inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs on various aircraft, under the guidance of experienced technicians.

You will learn servicing procedures for fuel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, perform troubleshooting, keep workspaces clean, and participate in on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Completed trade qualification or apprenticeship in Aircraft Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of aircraft systems and mechanical principles.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior mechanics.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics in performing routine inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs on aircraft.
• Learn and apply proper procedures for servicing aircraft systems, including fuel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Help troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues, reporting findings to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies meticulously during all tasks.
• Participate in on-the-job training sessions and skill development programs.
