About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of aircraft types.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems issues.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure all maintenance performed complies with regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
• Supervise and mentor junior maintenance technicians, fostering their technical development and ensuring adherence to procedures.
• Manage aircraft maintenance records, documenting all work performed accurately and thoroughly.
• Coordinate with flight operations and other departments to minimize aircraft downtime and ensure operational readiness.
• Conduct quality inspections to verify the airworthiness of repaired or serviced aircraft.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new maintenance procedures and strategies.
• Respond to AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations and provide swift, effective solutions.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence recognized in South Africa.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience in aircraft maintenance, with a strong focus on heavy maintenance and line maintenance.
• Proven experience with a range of aircraft types and complex systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, avionics, engines).
• Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA requirements) and maintenance best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in supervising technical teams.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation effectively.
• Excellent problem‑solving capabilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess own tools and be willing to undergo background checks and medical assessments.
