Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our heavy base maintenance team in Johannesburg. You will oversee airworthiness, perform inspections, repairs, and overhauls to ensure safety and reliability of our fleet in a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate holds a SACAA-approved AME license and proven heavy base maintenance experience on Boeing and Airbus aircraft, with a strong grasp of aviation regulations and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in heavy base maintenance on commercial aircraft (Boeing, Airbus).
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft in accordance with manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and repair airframe, engine, and system components.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, parts used, and labor hours.
• Collaborate with certifying staff and inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various aircraft types in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct detailed inspections, diagnose faults, and execute necessary repairs on airframe, engine, and system components.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Collaborate with certifying staff and inspectors to ensure compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license recognized by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).
• Proven experience in heavy base maintenance on commercial aircraft (e.g., Boeing, Airbus families).
