Placements24 seeks a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the client’s team in Mahikeng. You will lead complex actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections, and provide critical insights to drive profitability and solvency.

The role collaborates with underwriting, product development, and finance to price new products and guide strategic decisions. A Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., FIA, FASSA, SOA).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Actuarial Analyst in insurance.
• Proficiency in actuarial software and programming (Prophet, R, Python, SQL).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain sophisticated actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and projections.
• Analyze insurance data to assess risk, quantify liabilities, and forecast outcomes.
• Collaborate with product development to design and price new insurance products.
• Assist in valuation of liabilities and regulatory reporting compliance.
• Provide expert actuarial insights to support strategic decisions.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to best practices.
