Placements24 is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst for our client, a leading insurance and financial services firm in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will build and maintain complex actuarial models for pricing, reserving and financial projections, and contribute to strategic decisions.

You will guide junior analysts, collaborate with underwriting, product development and finance, and ensure compliance with actuarial standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., ASISA or SOA).
• Minimum of 5 years actuarial experience in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain complex actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Perform in-depth analysis of insurance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support pricing of new insurance products and review product profitability.
• Assist in calculation of technical provisions and reserves per regulatory requirements.
• Conduct experience studies and analyze key actuarial assumptions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product development and finance to provide insights.
