Placements24 is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the team in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will apply mathematical and statistical methods to pricing new products, manage reserves, and evaluate financial health of insurance portfolios.

Qualifications

• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., Actuarial Society of South Africa).
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, GGY Axis) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex actuarial calculations for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models using specialized software.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns relevant to insurance risk.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new insurance products.
• Prepare reports and present findings to management and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments, including underwriting, claims, and finance.
