Job summary

Smart4 Energy in Cape Town seeks a Senior Accountant/Senior Financial Accountant to join its South African finance team. This hands-on role covers IFRS compliance, month-end/year-end close, intercompany accounting and multi-entity reporting across 20+ entities.

The ideal candidate has 6–8+ years in accounting within a multinational setting, strong ERP experience (SAP) and a track record in statutory reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level accounting degree and relevant professional qualifications.
• CA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA or equivalent qualifications advantageous.
• 6–8+ years' accounting/financial reporting experience.
• Experience in multinational/group finance environment.
• Strong ERP experience with SAP highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, annual and statutory financial statements and reporting packs.
• Ensure IFRS and group reporting standards are followed.
• Manage month-end and year-end close across multiple entities.
• Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations and mismatch resolution.
• Coordinate consolidation and group reporting entries.
• Liaise with external auditors and support audit requirements.
• Support onboarding of new entities and systems integration.
