Job summary

Inuka Partners in Cape Town is seeking a Financial Accountant to oversee end-to-end accounting and reporting for a growing international business. The role focuses on accurate financial management, compliance, and audit processes from our Cape Town base.

The candidate will manage monthly closes, prepare IFRS financial statements, oversee tax returns, and coordinate audits while supporting local entity operations and Sage X3 processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA (K) or ACCA qualification.
• 3–4 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and quarterly close processes and general ledger activities.
• Prepare consolidated accounts and IFRS financial statements.
• Oversee reconciliations, AR/AP, invoicing, payments, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and review tax returns and local statutory submissions.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors.
• Support new entity setup, banking, payroll and other finance operations.
• Maintain accurate transaction coding in Sage X3.

The opportunity

Our client is a growing international business operating across emerging markets and is seeking a Financial Accountant based in Cape Town. The role will oversee end-to-end accounting and reporting, supporting accurate financial management, compliance, and audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, financial statements, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare consolidated accounts and IFRS financial statements.
• Manage reconciliations, AR/AP, invoicing, payment runs, and the fixed asset register.
• Prepare and review tax returns and local statutory submissions.
• Oversee in-country accounting teams and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors.
• Support new entity setup, banking, payroll, and other finance operations.
• Maintain accurate transaction recording and coding within Sage X3.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (K) or ACCA qualification.
• 3–4 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong financial reporting, accounting, and IFRS knowledge.
• Experience with tax, audits, reconciliations, and consolidated accounts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
