Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Senior Accountant for our client’s corporate finance team in Vereeniging. The role focuses on IFRS-compliant financial statements, general ledger integrity, and timely reporting to support strategic planning.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting, IFRS expertise, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel. A hybrid work model in Gauteng is offered with strong career development opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 in a senior role.
Solid knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all entries.
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting, providing financial data and analysis.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare filings.
Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations.
