Placements24 is seeking a Senior 3D Modeler to join a Mossel Bay studio renowned for cinematic visuals. You will create detailed models for characters, props and environments, optimize for real-time pipelines, and ensure UVs and textures meet PBR standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio, 5+ years in the industry, and proficiency across Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush and Substance Painter. Collaboration with artists and engineers is essential in a vibrant creative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years professional 3D modeling experience in games/film/animation.
• Portfolio demonstrating hard-surface and/or organic modeling across projects.
• Proficiency in Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush and Substance Painter.
• Strong understanding of polygon modeling, UVs and texturing, plus PBR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models for characters, props and environments from concept art and specs.
• Optimize models for real-time rendering and animation pipelines.
• Develop efficient UV layouts and high-resolution textures.
• Collaborate with art directors and lead artists to match project style.
• Coordinate with technical artists and riggers to ensure animation readiness.
• Retopologize models for game engines and real-time apps.
• Maintain attention to detail from form to surface detail.
• Participate in model reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Stay updated on latest 3D software and techniques.
• Manage assets within project file structure and version control.
