Placements24 in Rustenburg, North West seeks a Senior 3D Modeler & Character Artist to join a leading interactive studio. You will create high/low-poly character assets, sculpt with ZBrush, texture with Substance Painter, and optimize for real-time engines.

Collaborate with concept artists and engineers to translate 2D concepts into game-ready assets, ensuring style consistency and technical accuracy. A strong portfolio and proficiency in Maya/3ds Max/Blender are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior 3D Modeler or Character Artist in video games.
• Strong portfolio showcasing character modeling, texturing, rendering.
• Proficiency in Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Expertise in ZBrush for high-res details.
• Familiarity with PBR workflows and texturing tools.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Solid understanding of human anatomy and proportion.
• Ability to translate 2D concepts into 3D assets.

Responsibilities

• Create high/low-poly character models from blockout to final assets.
• Texture with details, materials, and shaders for real-time rendering.
• Optimize models for game engines with proper UV layouts.
• Sculpt high-resolution details in ZBrush.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to meet style/tech requirements.
• Maintain consistency across character assets and participate in reviews.
