Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Special Education Needs (SEN) Coordinator for a respected educational institution in Rustenburg, North West. You will oversee support for students with special needs, developing tailored learning plans and ensuring resources are in place for academic and social success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/graduate degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology or related field.
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Experience in SEN coordination or leadership is essential.
• Knowledge of national SEN frameworks and legislation is required.
• Understanding of diverse learning difficulties and disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor IEPs for students with special needs.
• Coordinate with teachers to apply differentiation and support strategies.
• Liaise with parents/guardians to discuss progress and needs.
• Collaborate with external specialists to provide comprehensive support.
• Maintain records of assessments, progress and interventions.
• Advocate for SEN needs within the school.
• Organise SEN training for staff and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Monitor effectiveness of SEN provisions and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to school policies on inclusion and special education.
