Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in Centurion to oversee and coordinate support for students with special educational needs. You will work with teachers, parents, external agencies, and students to develop and implement effective support plans and foster an inclusive learning environment.

The role requires a teaching qualification with SEN specialization and at least 4 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with a specialization in Special Education or SEN.
• Experience in SEN assessment tools and developing personalized learning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
• Coordinate with teachers to provide differentiated instruction and support strategies within the classroom.
• Liaise with parents/guardians to ensure effective communication and collaboration regarding their child's progress and needs.
• Manage referrals to external specialists and agencies, and maintain accurate records of student support.
• Advise and train school staff on best practices for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Monitor the progress of students with SEN and evaluate the effectiveness of support interventions.
