Job summary

DP World in South Africa seeks a logistics planner to plan daily trips by allocating volume to vehicles and trips, ensuring on-time, full deliveries per customer orders and SLAs.

You will deliver a least-cost daily route plan, keep the planning tool up to date, and liaise with on-site operations to reflect daily activities. A Grade 12 with Mathematics and a diploma in logistics plus 2–3 years of planning experience are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Mathematics required.
• National Diploma in a logistics related field required.
• At least 2-3 years of planning/tracking experience in similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily trips by allocating volume to vehicles and trips.
• Ensure deliveries meet orders and SLAs.
• Deliver a least cost route plan via planning tool.
• Keep planning tool database accurate and up to date.
• Adhere to daily route plan and capture daily feedback.
• Coordinate with on-site operations staff on daily activities impacting planning.
• Produce documentation and analysis for assigned projects.
• Ensure NDDs for customers are accurate.
• Provide timely management and operational reports.

To plan the daily trips by allocating volume to vehicles and trips, ensuring the required deliveries will be completed on time and in full as per customer orders or service level agreements.

Key Performance Areas

• Deliver a least cost route plan via the planning tool.
• Ensure the least cost daily route plan is achieved for the entire fleet.
• Ensure that the planning tool database is accurate and up to date
• Ensure that the daily route plan is adhered to.
• Ensure daily feedback from vehicle expediters is input into the planning system
• Liaise with on-site operations staff to be 100% aware of daily operational activities which may influence planning.
• Deliver documentation and analysis on assigned projects
• Ensure that NDDs for customers are accurate
• Ensure management and operational reporting is accurate and up to date.

Qualifications Required

• Grade 12 with Mathematics.
• National Diploma in a logistics related field.

Experience and Skills Required

• At least 2 - 3 years proper and similar experience in planning / tracking environment.
