Job summary

SanParks is seeking 2x Buyers in Supply Chain Management for a fixed-term 12-month period at Addo Elephant National Park and Tsitsikamma National Park. Roles report to the Practitioner: SCM and involve procurement, bid administration, and contract monitoring.

Applicants should hold a National Diploma in SCM/Procurement and have 2–3 years’ SCM experience, with a valid driver’s license and strong Excel skills. The role emphasizes compliance with PFMA and SANParks policies and deadlines.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 6 qualification (National Diploma) in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Logistics or a relevant finance related qualification.
• 2–3 years relevant experience in SCM/financial administrative environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Packages including Excel.
• Working knowledge of Great Plains financial system will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of PFMA; PPPFA; SANParks Policies, General Procurement Guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Advertise, compile, and conduct the screening of RFQs up to R500,000.
• Compile evaluation forms and memos.
• Coordinate evaluation meetings with end users.
• Provide secretarial support for evaluation meetings.
• Assist with negotiations for RFQs below R500,000.
• Source suppliers through the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Assist with processing of invoices and payments.
• Check SCM compliance with regulations and policies.
• Verify documentation complies with legislation and policies.
• Support procurement processes throughout bid and quotation cycles.
• Generate purchase orders and follow up on invoices.
