Job summary

Badger & Bird Talent is seeking a Salesforce Forward Deployed Engineer who will be embedded into enterprise environments as a hands-on developer, building production code and complex integrations, beyond basic admin.

The role offers remote-first work in South Africa with compensation up to R110,000 per month, fully funded Salesforce certifications, company hardware, and performance bonuses. You will deliver custom Apex/LWC code, integrations, and scalable data architectures.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on development experience using Apex, LWC, JavaScript, and SOQL.
• Proven experience architecting enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, APIs, or ESBs.
• Practical knowledge of Salesforce DX, Git, and automated deployment tooling.
• Strong understanding of multi-cloud architectures, security models, and handling large data volumes (LDV).

Responsibilities

• Custom Development: Build programmatic solutions using Apex, LWC, and JavaScript for enterprise apps.
• System Integration: Connect Salesforce to core legacy systems via MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, and event-driven tools like Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Data Architecture: Design models capable of handling Large Data Volumes (LDV) and optimize SOQL/SOSL performance.
• DevOps & Delivery: Set up CI/CD and automated release management using Salesforce DX, Git, and tools like Copado or Gearset.

Salesforce Forward Deployed Engineer

Most Salesforce roles fall into one of two traps: you are either stuck doing basic platform config and drag-and-drop admin, or you are writing endless functional specs in a consulting agency with zero hands-on engineering time.

This position is built differently. You are embedded directly into enterprise environments as a hands-on developer, writing production code and architecting complex integrations where standard Salesforce out-of-the-box features hit a wall.
