Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking a capable Sales Representative to join our team in the Blackheath area of Cape Town. You will build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, contractors and renovators while identifying new business opportunities and securing new sales contracts.

You will provide technical product advice on MiTek Roofing Design, rib and block decking, aluminium fenestration and other building materials, and prepare cost estimates from plans to ensure accurate

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ sales experience in building materials required.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel in Cape Town and Winelands region.
• Clean police clearance required.
• Ability to provide technical advice throughout construction projects.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, including architects, engineers, contractors, builders, and renovators.
• Identify new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, and securing new sales contracts to expand market share.
• Provide clients with technical product advice and recommend building material solutions based on project requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates and quantity take-offs from building plans and ensure accurate product ordering and delivery.
• Develop and implement sales strategies, monitor market trends and competitor activity, and coordinate projects with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ sales experience within the building materials industry.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience reading architectural plans and preparing building material estimates.
• Technical knowledge of MiTek Roofing Design, ceiling estimation, Rib & Block decking, aluminium fenestration, and general building materials.
• Ability to provide technical advice and support throughout all phases of a construction project.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the Cape Town and Winelands region.
• Professional, self-motivated, and target-driven with high levels of integrity and accountability.
• Clean police clearance required.
