Job summary

The Demonstration Representative at Soudal Group will increase awareness and sales of the Soudal product range through professional in-store demonstrations, based in Johannesburg. This highly customer-facing role concentrates on converting demonstrations into sales while strengthening relationships with retailers, contractors, and end-users.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail promotions, brand activation, or hardware sales.
• Must have a valid driver's licence, preferably code 08 (B).
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional local languages are a plus.
• Target-driven and results-oriented with a friendly, energetic persona.

Responsibilities

• Conduct professional product demonstrations at customer stores to increase awareness and sales of Soudal products.
• Demonstrate features and benefits of the Soudal range and educate customers on applications.
• Drive product trials and conversions, reporting outcomes to the sales team.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked displays and assist with merchandising and POS materials.
• Travel within Johannesburg and surrounding areas as required; work flexible hours including weekends.

The Demonstration Representative increases awareness and sales of the Soudal product range through professional in-store demonstrations. This role is highly customer-facing and is primarily based in Johannesburg. You will play a critical part in converting product demonstrations into sales opportunities while strengthening relationships with retail stores, contractors, installers, and end-users.

The successful candidate will be energetic, hands-on, well-presented, and passionate about engaging with customers.

Product Demonstrations

• Conduct professional product demonstrations at customer stores.
• Demonstrate features and benefits of the Soudal range (Fix All, Silicones, PU Foams, Mitre Kit, Multispray, Adhesives).
• Educate customers on product applications and best practices.
• Drive product trials and conversions.
• Work closely with the regional Sales Representative.
• Assist with new product launches, promotions, open days, expos, and trade shows.
• Identify sales opportunities during demonstrations and communicate them to the sales team.

Merchandising & Store Standards

• Ensure Soudal displays remain clean, fully stocked, and professionally presented.
• Assist with display installations, gondola ends, POS material, and shelf merchandising.
• Report out-of-stock situations immediately.

Territory Management & Reporting

• Follow a structured weekly demonstration schedule and agreed call cycle.
• Maximise customer-facing time during normal trading hours.
• Travel throughout Johannesburg and surrounding areas as required.
• Maintain accurate records of demonstrations, customer feedback, and attendance registers.

Profile

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail promotions, brand activation, or hardware sales.
• Experience working with contractors or retailers preferred with experience in the hardware, building, construction or paint industry advantageous.
• Must have a valid driver's licence, preferably code 08 (B)
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional local languages are an advantage).
