Job summary

Arcs is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded sales professional in Gauteng. The role focuses on building and maintaining an active customer base, supporting the sales team, and driving new opportunities in line with strategic objectives.

You will supervise internal sales staff, provide territory coverage, and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure high customer satisfaction. Regular tender work and quotes are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• N4 Instrumentation qualification is required.
• Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Certificate is required.
• Proven experience with Control Valves.
• Strong knowledge of PER and PED requirements.
• Experience with Control Valve sizing programmes.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Strong technical, commercial and sales knowledge.
• Experience in a technical sales environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an active customer base to support the sales team and develop new sales opportunities in line with the companys strategic objectives.
• Supervise and manage internal sales staff.
• Provide internal sales support for a predefined territory/location to achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas and goals.
• Work closely with internal team members and external sales teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Provide support to the Sales Executive and General Manager as required.
• Apply effective sales skills to capitalise on commercial opportunities, including the negotiation of pricing.
• Maintain an agreed level of proactive telephone and email contact with both existing and prospective customers.
• Prepare and provide quotations based on tenders and enquiries received.
• Provide monthly sales forecasts for local and export accounts.
• Prepare and provide monthly sales, invoice and quotation reports.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute towards achieving the company's overall sales targets.
• Ensure customer enquiries and quotations are handled professionally and within agreed timeframes.

• Experience with Control Valve sizing programmes.

Working Conditions

• The position requires the ability to work under pressure and meet sales deadlines and targets.
