Responsibilities

• Attend to customers entering the shop and address client needs.
• Monitor stock levels, perform stock takes, manage stock control and receiving; flag products with expiry within 3 months.
• Conduct at least 3 department stock takes per week.
• Daily cash-up and balancing of daily takings.
• Keep the shop neat and tidy.
• Set up and maintain product promotions and displays; stay updated on product information.
• Adhere to company values: Honesty, Openness, Integrity, Constructive, Client-focused, Respect for all.
• Attract customers via social media: update Facebook 2-3 times weekly and post adverts on platforms such as WhatsApp groups.
• Handle daily financials and stock control including cash management and reporting to owner.

Our client in the retail sector is looking to employ a Sales Assistant.

Responsibilities

Duties include, yet are not confined to, the following:

• Sales Assistant duties require attending to and dealing with each person entering the shop. Whatever is required by the client must be attended to.
• Assisting in the monitoring of all stock levels, stock taking, stock control and counting, and receiving. Expiry dates must be checked during stock counts and the manager notified of all products with less than 3 months remaining before the expiry date.
• Performing at least 3 department stock takes per week.
• Daily cash-up and balancing of all the days takings.
• Keep the shop neat and tidy.
• Setting up and maintaining product promotions and poster displays. Keeping up to date with product information knowledge.
• Adhering to the Values of the organization: Honesty, Openness, Integrity, Constructive, Client focused, Respect for all.
• Perform key activities for attracting customers such as:
• Updating the Facebook page 2-3 times per week
• Posting small adverts on social media platforms, what's app buy and sell groups
• Financial and stock control including:
• Daily
• End of Day
• Cash management as per the standards in place
• Sales reporting to owner
• Invoice receipts for stock to the owner
• Petty Cash purchases to the Owner
• Reconciliation of Stock sales to credit card report
• Stock ordering
• Stock insertion
• Stock Adjustment
• Stock price adjustments on receipt and marked up according to prescribed %
• Weekly: Cash management and counting , Cash reconciliation, Banking of Cash, Ensure sufficient change available
• Monthly: Stock Sales Reports: Stock Sales report by Department, Stock Sales report Detailed, Stock Sales refunds, Stock on Hand Control sheets: Daily Sales Capturing in Cashbook and Petty Cash slips, Daily invoice receipts and credit notes Capturing and summarised, Month-end stock summary per Supplier, Yearly GP Report by month, Personal sales capturing per month per person
