Job summary

Sentinel Staffing Services in Edenvale (Centurion area) is seeking a SAIPA Clerk (Trainee Accountant) to join a respected professional services firm on a permanent basis. This role offers practical SAIPA articles and exposure to financial statements, VAT, and reconciliations.

You will assist with monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and support audit engagements while studying toward or completing a BCom Accounting or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
• Capturing and processing accounting records
• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with monthly bookkeeping
• Preparing VAT calculations and submissions
• Assisting with tax-related administration
• Supporting audit and accounting engagements where required
• Working closely with senior accountants and clients
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

Minimum Requirements:

• Studying towards or completed a BCom Accounting, Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification recognised by SAIPA
• Eligible to register for SAIPA articles
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• Own reliable transport is advantageous
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (spoken and written), as Afrikaans is the primary language used within the office and with many clients.
