Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Development Officer to manage development projects and foster community growth in Mahikeng, North West. You will assess community needs, develop proposals, and oversee implementation to improve livelihoods, education, and infrastructure in rural areas.

You will work closely with local communities, government bodies, and NGOs to ensure timely delivery, sustainable impact, and culturally appropriate strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years in community development or project management.
• Experience with rural communities and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess community needs and identify opportunities for development projects.
• Develop project proposals and secure funding from various sources.
• Oversee the implementation of development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, leaders, and local stakeholders in Mahikeng, North West.
• Coordinate with government agencies and other NGOs to ensure collaborative efforts.
• Monitor project progress and impact, collecting data for reporting and evaluation.
• Organize community meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Ensure projects are implemented in a sustainable and culturally appropriate manner.
