Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Development Officer to foster growth and engagement within Polokwane's underserved communities. You will identify needs, develop programs, and build partnerships to support social impact in Limpopo.

The role emphasizes facilitation, stakeholder engagement, data collection, and reporting on progress and outcomes. A minimum of three years in community development is expected, with strong communication and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community development, social work, or a related field.
• Experience in program planning, implementation, and community mobilization.
• Strong understanding of development principles and community-based approaches.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data collection and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments to identify priority areas for intervention.
• Develop, implement, and manage community-based projects and programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, local government and stakeholders.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and participatory planning sessions.
• Mobilize community resources and support for development initiatives.
• Monitor activities, collect data, and report on progress and impact in Polokwane.
