Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Rural Development Facilitator to drive development projects in Mahikeng and surrounding areas. The role combines fieldwork with administrative duties to empower local residents and boost socio-economic growth.

You will engage with communities, government bodies, and NGOs to implement programs in agriculture, infrastructure, and economic initiatives, while maintaining strong partnerships and reporting progress.

Qualifications

• A degree or relevant qualification in Rural Development, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of rural development or community-based project management experience.
• Proven experience in community facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of socio-economic challenges in rural settings, particularly in Mahikeng.
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within rural areas.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and opportunities within rural communities for development projects.
• Facilitate community engagement to ensure participatory development.
• Coordinate implementation of rural development projects, including agriculture and infrastructure.
• Build relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Provide training and capacity building to community members.
• Monitor progress, report outcomes, ensure accountability and sustainability.
