Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Civil Engineer specializing in transportation and road design to join its Vereeniging team. You will design road alignments, prepare drawings and tender documents, and supervise construction on-site to ensure conformity with design specifications.
The ideal candidate holds a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with at least five years of experience, and is proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, VISSIM and SIDRA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or master-level qualification in civil engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and road design.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, VISSIM and SIDRA for design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of geometric design, pavement design and road construction methods.
- Knowledge of South African road design standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop road alignments, cross-sections and intersection layouts for transportation projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents for road construction.
- Conduct traffic analysis and geometric design studies to optimize traffic flow and safety.
- Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients and contractors to manage deliverables and timelines.
