Job summary

Pick n Pay in Bloemfontein invites applications for a role designed to develop into a store manager. The role offers exposure to multiple departments within one of South Africa’s largest supermarket chains.

The incumbent should have Matric, 2-3 years retail experience (ideally with some departmental management exposure), and be prepared to relocate between stores. A credit and criminal check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Matric Essential.
• 2-3 years retail experience advantageous.
• 1-3 years departmental manager experience advantageous.
• Must be successful in at least 2 competency based interviews.
• Must be flexible and willing to be transferred between stores.
• Must be willing to give authorization for a full credit and criminal check.
• Must have a valid South African ID.
• Drivers Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards (floor and back-up).
• Adhere to security procedures.
• Ensure merchandise/display standards are adhered to.
• Conduct regular quality checks; stock must be rotated.
• Remove damaged/expired stock; prevent wastage/damages; check pricing labels.
• Complete administration accurately and on time.
• Analyse and update relevant information/documentation; take required actions.
• Plan and implement sales promotions.
• Advise customers on products; listen to requests and provide required products or services.
• Monitor budgets and take required actions.
• Analyse department profitability; make recommendations or take actions.
