Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Retail Stock Controller to join our client’s Benoni store in Gauteng. You will oversee stock taking, inventory levels, and data integrity within the store's systems to minimize shrinkage and optimize stock availability.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in retail inventory management. You will collaborate with sales and purchasing teams and ensure compliance with health and safety in the stockroom.

Formación

• Experience in stock control or inventory management in retail.
• Strong understanding of inventory principles and best practices.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and POS systems.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct regular stocktakes (cycle counts and full inventories) accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy within the system.
• Receive, check and process all incoming stock deliveries against orders.
• Manage the dispatch of stock transfers to other branches or returns of faulty goods.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce stock control procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss.
• Maintain organized stockroom areas for efficient storage and access.
• Generate regular reports on inventory levels and stock movement.
• Collaborate with sales and purchasing to ensure adequate stock for demand.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in stockroom/receiving areas.

About the Role

Our client, a leading general retailer, is seeking a meticulous and organized Retail Stock Controller to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing stock flow, and minimizing stock discrepancies. You will be responsible for overseeing stocktaking processes, managing incoming and outgoing goods, and ensuring the integrity of inventory data within the store's systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of inventory management best practices. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the operational efficiency of a busy retail environment in Benoni and play a key role in preventing stock loss and optimizing stock availability. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven experience in a stock control, inventory management, or warehouse role within a retail setting.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and POS systems.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct physical stocktakes accurately.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with health and safety procedures for stockrooms.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Benoni, Gauteng .
