Placements24 seeks a motivated Retail Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations during assigned shifts in Paarl, Western Cape. The role focuses on maintaining customer service standards, supervising staff, and driving sales while ensuring policy compliance.

You will manage opening/closing procedures, handle cash and POS tasks, train new staff, and resolve customer issues to deliver a smooth shopping experience for guests and a productive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead a small team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with POS systems and cash handling.
• Flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise retail staff during shifts to ensure productivity.
• Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor sales performance and assist in implementing strategies to achieve targets.
• Ensure stock is replenished, displays are maintained, and the store is kept clean and organized.
• Handle cash management, including POS transactions and reconciliation at the end of shifts.
• Train and mentor new staff on store operations and customer service standards.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
• Act as the primary point of contact for issues arising during the shift.
