Job summary

MyRunway is seeking a Retail Operations Manager in Johannesburg to lead a new store, drive sales, optimize operations and deliver a standout customer experience.

You'll manage a team on the floor, implement pricing and merchandising strategies, monitor performance with data, handle stock, admin, and safety, and partner with the warehouse to keep inventory healthy. This hands-on leadership role demands ownership and a bias for action.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the store's overall sales, profitability and performance.
• Execute pricing, markdown and promotional strategies to maximise sales.
• Drive merchandising standards that create an outstanding customer experience.
• Lead the recruitment, scheduling, coaching and performance of your team.
• Review store performance and using data to make commercial decisions.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, stock accuracy and shrinkage.
• Work closely with our warehouse team to move excess stock and keep inventory healthy.
• Ensure an excellent customer experience at every touchpoint.
• Oversee store administration, cash handling and banking procedures.
• Maintain a safe, secure and well-run store, including health & safety and loss prevention.
• Prepare weekly reporting, forecasts and performance updates.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be leading the team, driving performance, keeping operations running smoothly and constantly looking for opportunities to make the store even better.

What a typical day might look like

You’ll be responsible for:
