Job summary

Edgray Distributors (Pty) Ltd t/a JUMBO in Grahamstown (BGGT) is seeking an Administration Controller on a permanent basis. The role focuses on clerical tasks, store records maintenance, and general office duties within a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities include cash handling, daily banking, filing, reports, stock data capture, and staff supervision at the cash desk. Candidates should have Matric and a relevant NQF 5 certificate, with 2–5 years in sales/cashier roles preferred.

Qualifications

• Matric is required and a NQF 5 certificate in Retail/Business is preferred.
• Family of clerical duties including filing, record-keeping and data entry.
• Computer literacy with Word and Excel or equivalent office software.

Responsibilities

• Cash: manage daily banking with Store Manager, balance cash ups and secure floats.
• Administration: maintain store procedures, filing, reports and authorization of transactions.
• Housekeeping: keep back and cash desk areas clean and orderly.
• Security / Risk: safeguard back office and front cash, ensure health and safety standards.
• Customer Services: assist customers, handle inquiries and complaints professionally.
• People Management: supervise cash desk staff and enforce policies and disciplinary actions.
