Job summary

Southern Housing currently seeks a compassionate Scheme Housing Officer to support residents across Independent Living, Sheltered, Extra Care and Over 55s schemes. You will be the visible face of Southern Housing, managing two or more schemes and helping residents live safely, independently and with confidence.

You will travel between schemes, build strong relationships, deliver responsive housing management and collaborate with partner agencies to achieve outstanding resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, support or housing services with understanding of relevant legislation
• Understanding of diverse needs of older people and ability to provide support and signposting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, face to face, by phone and in writing
• Experience delivering customer care and responding to complaints professionally
• Ability to work independently, manage time and prioritise competing demands
• Proactive, solution-focused with negotiation and influencing skills
• Confidence using IT and mobile technology to maintain records and support residents to use digital services
• Commitment to continuous improvement, learning and personal development
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Flexibility to travel across schemes and work extended hours to manage emergencies

Responsibilities

• Support residents across Independent Living, Sheltered, Extra Care and Over 55s schemes
• Travel between schemes and attend meetings outside normal hours
• Build relationships with residents, colleagues and partner agencies
• Provide responsive housing management and signposting
• Resolve issues quickly to deliver strong resident outcomes
• Maintain records and support residents to use digital services
