Job summary

Large Game Reserve near Bela Bela seeks an experienced Reserve Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance staff and ensure smooth daily operations, asset care, and infrastructure reliability.

You will partner with the Reserve Manager, plan annual schedules, manage budgets, source suppliers, and uphold health and safety standards, while responding to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years managerial experience in maintenance on a game reserve or large farming operation.
• RSA Code 8 driver’s license and RSA ID.
• First Aid Level 3, firefighting, and health and safety training.
• Knowledge of road maintenance, reserve infrastructure, and electrical fencing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, water reticulation, and borehole mechanics.
• Proven leadership with hands-on team management under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance team; uphold timekeeping and safety standards.
• Manage budgets, source suppliers, and coordinate orders/deliveries.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and hazard-free work environment per protocols.
• Respond to emergencies, including after-hours reserve incidents.
• Compile administrative reports and support the Reserve Manager.
