Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Project Manager to join their renewable energy team in Stellenbosch. This hybrid role develops and delivers solar, wind, and other sustainable energy initiatives, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and staying within budget.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations, manage contractor performance, navigate regulatory requirements, and lead a mixed-location team to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• PMP certification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in renewable energy.
• Experience with hybrid project teams and industry software.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies and planning to construction and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and project timelines.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements in renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and operations teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project success.
