Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a proactive Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar and wind projects in and around Klerksdorp. You will manage all phases of project lifecycles, from feasibility studies and site acquisition to construction, commissioning, and handover.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in renewable energy.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV and/or wind energy technologies and development processes.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects on time and within budget.
• Manage project scope, resources, schedules, and budgets effectively.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, regulatory bodies).
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and manage project challenges proactively.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant environmental, safety, and quality standards.
• Report on project progress, milestones, and financial performance to senior management.
