Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer for an on-site role in Soweto. You will design, develop, integrate, and optimize solar, wind, and hybrid energy systems, collaborating with project managers and field technicians to deliver high-performance solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, 4+ years of experience, and expertise in PV systems, energy modeling, and grid interconnection.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design and engineering of renewable energy systems.
• Proven experience with solar PV systems; wind or battery storage experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD) and energy modeling tools.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, power systems, and grid integration.
• Knowledge of South African regulations and standards for renewable energy installations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Design and engineer renewable energy systems (e.g., solar PV, small-scale wind) for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
• Perform energy production and performance modeling and simulations.
• Select appropriate components and equipment based on project requirements.
• Develop system layouts, schematics, and electrical single-line diagrams.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Collaborate with installation teams to oversee system commissioning and ensure successful operation.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement optimization strategies.
• Stay current with advancements in renewable energy technologies and market trends.
